Alone or not

It was more like a squeak, but cat like enough for me to recognise the call of two waif like kittens staring saucer eyed into the quiet kitchen.
I smile, and here I was thinking I was to be alone for the next few days.  How delightfully playful if timid company to eat my meals with.
Later I wandered the bounds of Yuva eco centre.  The land was still, flowers thirsting for both water and an acknowledging gaze of their beauty.  The wooden huts resting and awaiting the next group to animate them.  Here I reflected upon how peaceful and relaxed in solitude I feel.  It’s not that I don’t cherish humanities company, foibles and all, rather solitude offers a recharge and a richness that I can give when company calls once again.
I spent hours watching the kittens and mum when next I sat in the dining area.  I am blissfully unaffected by time calls and urgent duties bound in people’s needs. The kittens scamper, lie, fight, stretch and I ponder that if we sink down deep enough moments arise and flow. Being and doing seamlessly resting into each other like breathing offers inhale and exhale for life to sustain.
The paradox of life expands from everywhere: silent cacophony, alone together with everything.  I laugh, I sing, I pray.  And in that moment I fully understand the nature of joy reaching out from within.  In observance of what is, that slow rise and fall of this breathing body graced for a time on this amazing globe of incredible life.
And in the next moment I realise that every emotion we feel is as necessary as the last.  The only challenge lies in holding ourselves with upturned hand and gentle caress when an overwhelm crashes its waves at our shores.
